Surprise release! Here’s an early Christmas gift dedicated to my patrons to say thank you to them and to anyone who has taken the time to stream, buy, download my music illegally or whatever, it means a LOT. (I’m working on something else extra for them on the actual day of dec 25th…) for all the love, all the support, and the genuine facilitation of my professional creative practice over this year, my first on patreon. in which they funded my lifelong dream of officially being a recording artist. Every penny of their pledges goes into my membership for recording studioshare and my work is really starting to take off. I couldn’t be more grateful, and yet with everything going on in the world, I couldn’t be sadder.
And I found absolutely no words to be able to articulate this heretofore unknown internal conflict. And that’s saying something. (Did you know I’m trans???)
so i sat down and tried to make all my feelings into sound, which, as my patrons are well aware of by now, is the only way i process any complicated set of emotions.
i also want to take this moment to directly @ sarya. without you being, and without you tearing this hole in my soul and taking it with you, these sounds wouldn't be coming out of me. there is a such a sense of sad goodbyes but hopeful futures in these scores.
Ancient pagans called the December full Moon the “Moon Before Yule,” in honor of the Yuletide festival celebrating the return of the sun heralded by winter solstice. So I’m releasing these two tracks (Gaudia as a B-side) on all streaming platforms on 29th December, when the moon will be at its fullest for the last time in this piece of shit year.
So this is another early access post over on patreon, because I’d like people to be able to read this little preamble once the single is released. And download the track for free if they can't stretch to a fiver, and maybe sign up to the beautiful koi-mmunity my art family have made, if they appreciate the art and want to see more.
It’s probably the thing I am proudest of to date.
And I couldn’t have done any of this, any of this year without each and every one of you.
I see you. All of you. I thank you. With all my fucking heart.
Next year brings a lot of promise already, and I can’t wait to share it all with you.
Merry Christmas,

Truly one of the modern greats, Kristin will always be such a significant source of inspiration with her artful blending of devotional music and noise. lonely carp
Xandra occupies such a powerful space in her aesthetic; synthesising the tumult of a lived trans experience into walls of abrasion, power electronics, and acoustic samples almost too painful to bear. lonely carp
A visceral LP centered on the subject of death; deft layers of instrumentation that blurs the line between organic and electronic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 5, 2018
As their name implies, The Ascent of Everest make big, expansive music, weaving in elements of post-rock, classical music, and more. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 12, 2019
